This was the club's first ever appearance in the Cup Final having only been admitted to the Scottish Football League in 2002. The match ended in a 1-1 draw and went to a penalty shoot-out in which Hearts triumphed 4-2. The side were able to wear their home kit in this match though and also wore special Scottish Cup patches.
