Dunne appeared 32 times in the league during the season and his consistent performances led to him being awarded the club's Player of the Year. Remarkably he would go on to win the award in the following two campaigns, as well as having already earnt it in 2004-05. As such he still holds the honour of being the only City player to have won the award four times in a row. Dunne left the club in 2009 for Aston Villa and retired with QPR in 2015.
